Tomas Gabriel

Tomas Gabriel is a United States national and registered nurse who has been living and working in El Salvador since the early 1980s. From 1983 to 1984, he was the coordinator of environmental sanitation (public health, latrines, garbage disposal) in the Mesa Grande refugee camp in Honduras. Since 1984, he has been involved in public health initiatives in El Salvador, such as immunizations, infant-maternal health, midwife support/training, potable water projects, compost latrines, nutrition, and renewable energy projects. Gabriel was born in Minnesota, US, and lives in El Salvador, part-time in Suchitoto and part-time in San Salvador.
