Teófilo Córdova
Teófilo Córdova Delgado was born on February 24, 1963, in the village of Los Pozos, Jaguataya, Nueva Trinidad, El Salvador, where he completed school up to grade 9. When he was 19 years old, he had to leave his home with his family due to the armed conflict. They were away for 7 years before returning to their place of origin. Córdova worked as a health promoter with Caritas Internationalis for 18 years, from January 1993 to December 2012. From 2013 to 2015, he was a promoter for the Asociación para el Desarrollo de El Salvador [Association for the Development of El Salvador, CRIPDES] in the consultations against metal mining in El Salvador. He has been a member of the Asociación de Desarrollo Comunal [Community Development Association, ADESCO] of his community for 4 terms and has also worked as a member of the Concejo Municipal de Nueva Trinidad [Municipal Council of Nueva Trinidad] for 3 terms (2014-2021, 2023-2026). He was elected president of Asociación Sumpul [Sumpul Association] in 2023.
