Otilio Mártir Ayala Sosa
Otilio Mártir Ayala Sosa, born on May 1, 1975, in Copapayo, El Salvador, is the antepenultimate of 14 children of Miguel Ayala and Juana de Dolores Sosa. His childhood was marked by war, which led his family to flee for four years. In 1983, Otilio lost his sister Mirna in the Copapayo Massacre, prompting the family to seek refuge in Mesa Grande, Honduras, under the protection of UNHCR. They returned to El Salvador in 1987, where Otilio faced poverty.In 1989, at just 13 years old, he joined the guerrilla and participated in the Offensive of November 11, 1989. After the war, he handed over his weapon in 1992 and resumed his civil life, co-founding Radio Suchitlán and studying International Relations. He married in 2002 and had three children. He currently works in the Suchitoto District, reflecting his resilience after a difficult past.
