Mary Carmen Vera López

Mary Carmen Vera is a Mexican scholar who completed her PhD in Hispanic Studies at Western University (Canada) in 2021. Her research interests include Iberian Medieval literature, popular culture, women’s writing and memory. While she was a graduate student at Western, she collaborated with the Surviving Memory team on transcriptions and translations. López viewed her work on the project as a way to tend to the bridges between academia and community, and it was a rich and moving experience in her professional and personal life.
