After leaving in 1985 for the camps of Mesa Grande, Honduras, she returned to Guarjila during the repopulation. Within the community, she plays different roles in the Comité de Mujeres [Women's Committee], in the Catholic Church, in the Asociación de Mujeres [Women's Association], and in the Directiva Comunal de la comunidad de Guarjila [Communal Board of the Guarjila Community].
