Kayla McInnes
Kayla MacInnes completed her undergraduate degree in Media, Information, and Technoculture at Western University, Canada, and is currently a student pursuing a Master's degree in Media Studies. During her undergraduate program, she found herself constantly drawn toward subject areas that dealt with social movements and activism, data discrimination, and tactical media. McInnes participated in the Western Undergraduate Summer Research Internship (USRI) in 2023. She worked as an illustrator alongside Jim Weese to create artwork that brought his leadership research-based children’s book to life. In 2024, she joined the Surviving Memory team through the USRI program to bring her creative skills to the project. McInnes was inspired by Amanda Grzyb’s work when she took one of her undergraduate courses, so she feels honoured to be part of the team.
