Katrina Fenicky
Katrina Fenicky is a medical doctor and recent graduate of the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry (Canada) with a specialization in Psychiatry. Prior to her residency training, Dr. Fenicky completed her Master’s degree at Queen’s University and medical training at Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. Her areas of clinical interest include gender-based violence recovery, women’s health, moral injury, post-traumatic stress disorder and operational stress injuries, as well as anxiety disorders across the spectrum. Katrina has an added special interest in treating Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Canadian Forces members and First Responders. Fenicky's clinical research interests include Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and sexual trauma recovery in the context of domestic and international sex trafficking. From her research, she is one of the founding members of the Consortium for Anti-Human Trafficking Research and Education, a trans-disciplinary and cross-sectoral education group providing anti-trafficking education across the healthcare sector. As a member of the Surviving Memory project, she and her co-facilitators worked alongside Salvadoran partners to develop community-driven programming on PTSD, addictions, and trauma rehabilitation.
