Juan Carlos Jiménez

Juan Carlos Jimenez is a PhD candidate in the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Toronto, Canada. His research interests focus on climate change vulnerabilities and adaptation in Central America and its impacts on rural livelihoods. Prior to his graduate studies, Jimenez worked on community development projects in Nicaragua and received his Master’s degree in Environmental Studies at York University. His research explored the application of grassroots renewable energy projects in Nicaraguan rural communities as an adaptation strategy to climate change. Jimenez has volunteered consistently in Chalatenango, El Salvador, as a translator for medical brigades, English teacher, and as an international observer.
