Francisco Mejía

Francisco Ernesto Mejía Alvarenga, “Fran,” is originally from the village of  Guancora, better known as Comunidad Ignacio Ellacuría, in Chalatenango, El Salvador, which was repopulated in 1989. He is the child of survivors of several massacres that occurred during the armed conflict. Fran holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences from  Don Bosco University, El Salvador. He is involved in the leadership of his community due to his passion for youth work, art, and historical memory. Fran currently coordinates the project's work with local partners in El Salvador.
