Fernando Chacón

Fernando Chacón is a graduate student in Clinical Psychology at Western University, Canada. He received his Master's in Community Psychology from the University of Chile. His research interests revolve around the memories of the armed conflict, intergenerational education (especially in communities in Chalatenango, El Salvador), and the psychosocial effects of war (including reparation, mental health, and psychosocial trauma). Apart from research, Chacón is interested in alternative psychosocial interventions, such as theatre of the oppressed, art therapy techniques, and mindfulness. He worked as a community social psychologist and as a research professor for the Department of Psychology and Public Health at the Central American University (UCA) in El Salvador.
