Alain Carretero
Alain Carretero is an ethnobotanist who explores traditional knowledge and use of plants, and people’s perception and experience of interrelated social and environmental challenges. He has 15 years of professional experience designing, organizing, implementing, analyzing, documenting, and communicating cross-disciplinary research and development projects. He has worked as an analyst on the interface between social-environmental vulnerability, resilience, and adaptive nature management. His skills and knowledge have been developed through experience with projects in South America, and he has university training in both Bolivia and Denmark. As part of the Surviving Memory in Postwar El Salvador project, Carretero is working closely with Dr. Vladimir Pacheco (Aarhus University) on the recovery of traditional knowledge and local economic reconstruction.
